This is a collection that spans the ten years of their association with label boss Steve Bug, as well as being a fine document of their own genre-defining yet deceptively effortless beats. It's been a decade since DJ Clé and Mike Vamp, the two people behind the Märtini Brös project, released their first 12'' on Steve Bug's label Raw Elements. Back then they might have felt that no one was listening, but now that opposite is the case. The MB Factor seems to be a collection of the Märtini Brös best work, which is reasonable considering the amount of time they've been producing quality tracks. They combine utterly funky, floor-melting electronic dance tracks and a natural songwriting musical ability that often defies belief. 2008, Touch. The Japanese phrase 'Kiri No Oto' loosely translates to the 'sound of fog' or 'sound of mist'. In many ways it's a collection that meditates on the sense of displacement and distortion that occurs in environments which undergo extreme mists, snowstorms and sea sprays. In the same way that visual objects loose their perspective, form and shape in these environments, the sound components that make up Kiri No Oto are not quite as they first might appear. Utilising a range of divergent mixing techniques, analog filtering and 'harmonic' distortion, Kiri No Oto offers an expansive sound space in which the listener must choose to position themselves. Focus, like that in a fog, is in a constant state of flux as elements are brought into and out of perspective. The first in a series of records employing this technique, Kiri No Oto explores the richness in the frequencies that are usually associated with extremes of volume and through this process the recordings position 'the ear' itself as 'another layer of auditory fog' as it begins to distort and alter the sounds it comes in contact with. The sounds sources for Kiri No Oto emanate from both instruments and found sound, with recordings on this edition made in Poland, New Zealand, Australia and Japan.

Credem ca sunt mari sanse ca Dl. McDonugh sa devina ceea ce Dl. Ritchie n-a ajuns inca din cauza nefericitei intalniri. Pai avem: scriitura impecabila, dialoguri suspect de bune, un Brendan Gleeson ce ne arata ce inseamna statura, un Ralph Fiennes care nu e inca Sir Ralph Fiennes? plus una din putinele ocazii in care Colin Farrell e tolerat de organism. "In Bruges", Martin McDonagh, 2008.
Pentru a evita o dezamagire, nu o luati aceste randuri drept o recomandare. Gusturile cinematrografice ale chestionabilului-aripa dura-sunt, cum era de asteptat, chestionabile. Un extras din ultima scara de valori, iulie 2008: cel mai idiot film posibil: "Dogville", dar nu cu mult mai idiot decat restul filmelor domnului Von Trier (includeti in aceeasi rubrica si Les Dardennes, Haneke, alti francezi, de fapt toti francezii, elvetieni si iranieni); ultima capodopera vizionata: "The Dark Knight", desigur.

2008, Nature. Raiders of the lost ARP is Mario Pierro (known as on half of Mat101 and Jollymusic) solo project. When you talk about Mario's solo projects, it's impossible not to notice his love for soul, funk and jazz: that's exactly the flavour you get in Mario's electro-techno. Mario is paying more tribute to the early influences of Detroit techno and chicago house and fuses that with some clean funk and then you get some dancefloor native rhymes. Detroit-style techno that tends to bring the Italo-disco referents buoyant keyboard work, plump rhythms, ringing melodies with European flair.

ca hipster blog-ul vostru favorit, anuntam a patra editie aniversara (ca e de ziua creatoarei conceptului) a targ-ului de accesorii vintage pentru haine selfmade second-hand sau ceva pe aici, oricum, stiti voi. pe langa cei 35 de expozanti cu menajeriile lor, lucas va arunca cu funk iar simpaticul crissy moran de la stabilimentul de fata va servi lumea cu dulceata si ea selfmade, insa -warning!!!- s-ar putea sa ascultati techno toata viata dupa aceea, ca side effect. dress-code-ul este, likely lads&gals, da, pete doherty (sunt sigur ca se accepta si seringi-brose sau haine "prafuite"!). locul este mecca actuala a cool-ului bucurestean, gradina iepureasca de la capitol si intrarea este three!

Era a patra oară când mă tundeam în luna aia şi orice semn de bunăstare sufletească era oricum interpretat ca ignoranţă. Se rânjea de ambele parţi, nimeni nu dădea nici măcar doi bani pe conjunctură. Imaginam răsaduri în ceştile de cafea, rodul pământului pentru o mână de oameni care-şi pierduseră neprevăzut reperele. N-aveam nici cea mai mică influenţă. Încercuiam întregul cu o privire şi tot ce era conceput ca unitate de sine stătătoare intra în mişcare într-un dans şi de voi ştiut.Îmi târam singură carul alegoric, pozam static pentru un final cât mai proporţionat.Apoi şedeam domol şi îngânam nelămurită-o melodie care-mi asigura de fiecare dată strictul necesar".

The mnmlssgs blog's recent attempt to critically assess the mythology behind Detroit techno quickly devolved into namecalling. The dance-music threads over at ILM are thick with vitriol. Part of the problem, certainly, is the rampant incivility that's crept into the world of Web 2.0-- as Homer Simpson would put it, "Democracy doesn't work!"-- but it seems like the mark of a true fan has become the ability to bitch more loudly and strenuously than anyone else...".

pe langa numele consacrate si cu mii de prieteni pe myspace, nominalizarile la mercury prize aduc la lumina reflectoarelor si formatii geniale obscure care astfel au parte de PR-ul meritat. e cazul celor de la portico quartet care fac din elucubratiile jazz ceva atat de pop incat te miri de ce trebuie sa fii snob ca sa asculti asa ceva. marimba!

p.s.: de tras cu urechea si la nominalizarea jazz de anul trecut, basquiat strings.

2008, DFA. A riddle wrapped in an enigma, studded by motorik percussion and furled by kinked synths, this furtive project associated with Sheffield-based Maurice Fulton plays out like Claymation characters and silicon cowbells jamming to Herbie Hancock's Future Shock with Arthur Baker at the boards. Whether recorded by a press-shy Finnish trio, or actually the work of the notoriously press-shy Maurice Fulton, this album of arpeggiated electro, boogie-down acid, and brooding 8-bit jazz-funk is both knotty and naughty, featuring Syclops' previous a-sides and additional syncopated analog jams for widescreen beardos and cloistered '70s sequencer weirdoes.

Embrun - L'Alpe-d'Huez, ultima etapa de munte a Turului Frantei. Ultima sansa a cataratorilor de a pune mana pe tricoul alb cu buline rosii. Cum era Lance a apus de ceva vreme, anul acesta sper ca macar unul din veterani, Sastre sau Menchov (a pierdut f mult timp la coborarea din Col de la Bonette) sa puna mana pe tricoul galben. Clasare surprinzator de buna si a echipei EUSKALTEL - EUSKADI.
Au trecut 7-8 ani de cand cuplul Radu Naum - Radu Banciu ma face sa rad, mereu ca-n prima zi.

2007, Musique Risquee. Though classically trained as a percussionist, his productions to date have seemed to draw greater influence from his academic research in electro-acoustics then any long forgotten rhythmic tradition. As is often the case, however, some of life's most profound experiences take years to make there true impact felt. In searching for the inspiration for his debut Album, Face ŕ l'est, Guillaume Coutu Dumont has had the good fortune of having just such an epiphany. Far from being an austere exercise in laptop chicanery though, Face A L'Est clearly has roots in far more conventional, classic house music, dabbling with a number of different styles. There are some jazzy sax phrases worked in the mix casually, loosened up quality, while others keep the hipster minimal scene alive. Guillaume proves himself an eminently capable producer across a multitude of different styles and sub genres, but you will find the odd bum note here and there, notably the duff Tom Waits-styled techno spoken word of 'Fat Cat', which finishes the album off, possibly in more ways than one. invitatul lunii de azi este transatlantic, activeaza cultural si urban la new york pentru ca stencilul de maramures sa nu stea doar pe o poarta traditionala de lemn ci si pe peretii multiculturali de la moma. e discipol al lui cirene din tripp si ne simpatizeaza exagerat so let's say hi to cristi aka bukkake in tricoul blogului aglomerari spontane.

Cativa reprezentanti ai unei specii politicoase de extraterestri au coborat intr-o seara la suprafata pamantului pentru a lua parte la un concert, curiosi sa afle ce este aceea "muzica". Sa spunem ca nu se duc tocmai la Sala Palatului, si nici pe Madison Square Garden. Sa spunem ca ajung la un concert ok. Oamenii se infierbanta repede, urla, canta, danseaza in extaz. Dar extraterestrii nu reusesc sa priceapa. Ei nu simt nimic, nu-i misca deloc aceste matrici sonore. Le pot identifica foarte precis matematic, in ratii complexe, dar nu le ofera nici o satisfactie, nu-i transporta deloc intr-o stare precum cea pe care oamenii par sa o exhibe. Care-i conceptul? De ce lor nu li se intampla nimic? Cum de are loc o astfel de transformare empatica in masa a fiintelor astora inferioare?, se intreaba ei invidiosi. Dar extraterestrii sunt politicosi, cum spuneam, asa ca il felicita pe compozitor la sfarsitul concertului "pentru ingenuitate" si pleaca derutati. Speciei lor ii lipseste ceva. Nu se pot bucura de muzica. Nu pot avea acces la Spiritul Universului. Sunt prin excelenta cerebrali.

Am imprumutat aceasta poveste de la Arthur C. Clarke, prin bunavointa domnului Oliver Sacks, doctorul celui care isi confunda sotia cu o palarie. Dupa invitatia primita de la Chestio&Balzac, care suna ceva de genul "vrem un post preferabil music-related", am cazut pe ganduri si nu am mai putut sa ma ridic. De ce neaparat music-related? Care-i treaba cu muzica? De ce sunt oamenii atat de fascinati de muzica? E un defect pe care nu pot sa-l repar, la fel de enervant ca si WC-ul care-mi curge fara oprire, ajung la intrebari d-astea: Ce sta la originea acestei minuni inutile cu care ne ocupam vietile?

[Aceeasi invitatie m-a facut sa-mi dau seama, concomitent, ca nu pentru muzica intram io pe Chestionabil. Cred ca mai degraba pentru poze si pentru umor.]

Voi inainta aici cateva teorii care incearca sa ofere un raspuns la aceasta intrebare. Unele dintre cele mai cretine sunt ale unor filosofi si oameni de stiinta foarte cunoscuti. Restul, cele mai interesante si mai plauzibile, sunt, desigur, ale mele. Asadar:

1. Inca dinainte de a ne fi nascut, bataile inimii mamei ne fac sa ne simtim ca la Ibiza pe minimale. Lichidul amniotic contribuie si el la aceasta senzatie, pentru a fi mai precisi. Ascultam muzica dintr-o nostalgie originara.
2. Muzica merge atat de bine cu drogurile.
3. Ne e frica de liniste. Cand se face liniste ne dam seama cat zgomot avem pe dinauntru si realizam ca suntem fundamental singuri si ca nimeni nu poate avea acces la ceea ce simtim cu adevarat si ca, in genere, viata e cam de cacat.
4. Muzica este un limbaj de sine statator, anterior cuvintelor (sustin unii) / ulterior cuvintelor (cred altii) / sau nascut in acelasi timp cu limbajul vorbit, intr-o simbioza care a dus abia mai apoi la doua chestii total diferite (pretind inca unii).
5. Am fost victimele unui accident genetic. Simplul fapt ca avem urechi ne face sa fim sensibili la muzica.
6. Abilitatea de a interpreta sunetele emise de natura (raul, ramul) si de alte fiinte vii (somnoroase pasarele) drept "muzicale" reprezinta un avantaj evolutionist. [Cum ar veni, creativii de la Gavrila&Asociatii au mai multe sanse sa-si reproduca genele decat cei mai multi dintre noi, decat daca nu cumva decidem sa ni le reproducem cu ei.]
7. Muzica a fost inventata in Africa inainte ca fiintele umane sa se desparta pentru a locui, rupti unii de altii, pe fiecare continent existent. Era principalul mod de a exprima bucuria sau tristetea. Ascultam muzica fiindca tanjim sa ne intoarcem din Babylon in Zion, in Africa starii mentale primordiale.
8. In miscarile lor circulare prin Univers, planetele sunt conduse de ratii ale consonantelor, producand astfel o muzica atat de perfecta in armonia sa incat muritorii nu reusesc sa o perceapa. Ei nu pot decat sa o imite, asa ca fac muzica pentru a se impartasi macar putin din acea armonie.
9. Muzica ne-a fost oferita de extraterestri (altii decat aia de la inceput). Sau de diavol.
10. Muzica a evoluat multa vreme odata cu stiinta, despartindu-se de ea dupa Renastere. Revolutiile tehnologice din deceniile recente au dus la aparitia muzicii electronice, care evidentiaza o reapropiere, daca nu fata de stiinta, cel putin fata de inginerie.

De cand m-au prins beat acu multi ani si m-au bagat in baza de date, astia de la Kent imi baga sirop pe diverse cai cum ca ei sunt pe tehnologie, design, minimal, futurism, plm, noua dimensiune (slogan: taste in a new dimension), inovatie si multe altele.
Si se duce omul de buna credinta la concert de muzica electro si ce vede? Perdele de apa? Nu, vede doua balerine contractate de la casa sindicatelor din Navodari, ce dau din buci inainte de Fatboy Slim. Ok, erau acolo si baetii care desenau spirale in aer pe Trentemoller care, da, ar fi putut aprecia cum trebuie un astfel de program artistic. Public pt chiloti, in Romania, gasesti fara probleme. "Maica-meeeaaaaaaa!". De la fumatorii de Kent la activistii anti-tutun, noi, oameni pe la party-uri mergatori ce suntem de cativa ani, nu mai vrem sa vedem, in 2008, pe aceeasi scena cu Trentemoller si Fatboy Slim, ce?!? Adica ceea ce ne-a servit Kentu vineri si sambata la Navodari. Daca te gandesti cum aruncau alea cu cartuse-n tine pe unde te prindeau... Dar nu ele-au fost problema. Astea aveau chiloti ok, ca doar te uiti dupa ele cu lanterna-cadou. Bricheta se consuma oricum dupa primele 2 tigari. Dar nici asta nu a fost problema. Problema a fost si este ca: Doua fete dansand in chiloti albi, sutien alb si aripioare din voal alb fluturand pe la subrat. Casino Mamaia '97. Am mai vazut dansatoare si pe la party-uri in afara, dar prestatia lor era complet altfel contextualizata. Sa-mi postezi pe scena(!) doua pitzi cu cameltoe care sa bage din solduri pe tech-house si din par pe minimal in stil Max/Twice promotie 2000 si apoi sa ma inviti sa pasesc la terasa in noua ta dimensiune, e de cacat. Aia de la Burn macar scuipau niste flacari. Burn, flacara. Flacara, Burn. Hint, hint. Got it. Pff.
Locul dansatoarelor in cluburile romanesti e deja stabilit. Oki. Tzaca - pac, subratul la ceafa, piciorul la 170 de grade, miscari de pumni in intravilan si scuturari ale matretii. Nimic rau in asta, dar bai kent-ule: daca-i pe-asa, aduceti si voi macar unele cu alte dimensiuni.

Comprised of Anton Kubikov and Maxim Milyutenko, the Moscow techno duo SCSI-9 made an international impact during its stint with Force Tracks, which began with some 12"s followed by the pair's full-length debut, Digital Russian (2003). "Rodulate" features more archive material from the pair, chosen and honed by them for a second collection of electronic music variations that touch on stripped electro, sino textures, Acid reductions and even some squashed rhymes for your listening pleasure. It's a raw, beautifully analogue affair that manages to temper some of Vibert's more overtly kitsch instincts without getting rid of his effortless funk and sci-fi styles. Simmonds' involvement somehow turns the whole thing into an edgier, more robust beast, offering a good counterpoint to some of the more polished Vibert productions of later years. In aceasta luni francofona o avem invitata aici la tastatura chestionabil pe Le Petit Mouton, autoarea unui blog extrem de romanesc de bine scris (nowadays, e raritate), care ne tradeaza unele dintre secretele sale netlabeluri favorite.

Nu stiu ce va citeau mamicile voastre inainte de culcare (mie Puf Alb sii Puf Gri ), dar cu siguranta lui Richard Stallman mamic-sa ii citea pe-o voce blajina Discurs asupra originii si fundamentelor inegalitatii dintre oameni. Si uite asa, eu am ajuns sa fiu un textier de duzina iar dansul, pornit impotriva proprietatii private, a initiat acest mare Free Software Movement, care, dupa banuielile mele, sta la baza nasterii netlabel-urilor si a muzicii care curge pe teava ca la garla. Dar destul despre aceste date pe care le stiu de la linux freaks in schimbul unui zambet de fatuca, ceea ce conteaza e ca prin aceste mreje s-a prins muuulta muzica buna, si-i pe gratis. Muzica produsa de free label-uri e o mare mangaiere la ego-ul disperat dupa raritati si exclusivisme, caci n-a auzit vecinul de last.fm de aceste experimente, sa moara capra si toate ovinele patriei. Si totusi, exista pe last.fm o comunitate destul de inchegata, care frunzarita putin, te duce catre cele mai misto albume de electronica, IDM sau downtempo. Ultima descoperire a venit din partea rusului Sasha cu un album
Audiodump care misca bancomate si schele. Un alt netlabel de suflet este Camomille, care i-a gazduit candva pe ai nostri Makunouchi Bento si care scot muzica rupta din rai (ca bataia pe care o merita Adrian Eftimie). Si mai e si Sutemos sau lunawave si cate circaraie si cate minunatii, numai sa vrei sa le cauti! Pentru ca, la fel ca-n preludiul de sambata a lui Fatboy Slim, Hold your breath/ make a wish /count to three, it's pure imagination.

Unele trupe iti aduc aminte de cat de simplu e sa pui mana pe o chitara si sa-ti faci trupa. As easy as ABC. Or XTC. Pentru ca, nu-i asa, nu suntem inzestrati chiar toti pentru oboiul francez. Genul acesta de trupe au stimulat la momentul lor toti pustii sa incerce doua acorduri (=o melodie) in garaj pentru ca, oh my cartney, ce poate fi mai usor de atat? Exemple vag recente: Oasis si Libertines. In cazul postului de fata, The Moood. Cocotati pe creasta aceluiasi val indie ca si The Amsterdams, cei patru membri sunt intruchiparea pragmatismului catchy: melodii dinamice in cateva acorduri, versuri simple si cu miez de singalong. Hmm, stati putin, astia nu erau Rolling Stones? Pai, cam da, si asemanarile nu se opresc aici, trebuie sa-l vedeti pe solist live ca sa intelegeti ca Mick Jagger are in sfarsit un corespondent si in tara Clanului Costel Soprano, cu atitudine, aplomb, isterie vocala si carisma like he can't get no satisfaction desi Marriane Faithful ii zambeste din public.
Acum cateva zile, The Moood au postat pe myspace-ul lor un demo de patru piese indelung asteptat de fanbase. Acum un an le salutasem aparitia in Republik pentru ca umpleau un gol masiv de energie rock-punk. Si care, in ciuda referintelor la The Clash/Buzzcocks/Rolling Stones, suna supercontemporan, gata de playat la un Virgin Radio iar, ca fapt divers, ar intra si in iPod-ul unuia care nu asculta neaparat trupe timbrate cu atat de discutabilul termen indie (cum e genul de public eterogen Whitestripes, trupa cover-uita de Mooozi in concerte). Ascultati piesele si, brusc, cei trei de "o" stranii din denumirea trupei vi se vor parea pe deplin justificati, de preferabil in varianta "oooh, ce misto suna", nu "ooo, what a bunch of assholes in boxes".
P.S.: -Daca vi se pare cunoscuta piesa "Hey", atunci probabil ati vazut un spot-promotie la Samsung care o are pe coloana sonora, o premiera "comerciala" pentru o trupa romaneasca de indie/underground. Watch it here. Sa fie acesta inceputul unei frumoase prietenii, sper, pentru ca trupe care au material mai sunt.
-Asteptam remixul pentru "Two Times" din partea lui Eusebio Digital, membru al excelentului crew creativ Save or Cancel, care ar institui de altfel si o alta premiera.

"Minimalul, ca sa ne enervam de la primul cuvant, are o soarta ciudata in romania. Acum ceva ani, cand sound-ul aparea la primele petreceri in romania nu strangea mai mult de 30 de oameni pentru o vara intreaga. Vara urmatoare, cel putin un club era deja plin, inca una si cucerise toate ringurile. Ce s-a intamplat, cum a putut muzica asta deloc facuta pentru succesul de masa sa ajunga atat de repede sa inlocuiasca manele din cartiere si sa fure publicul discotecilor din regie? O coincidenta. Aparitia sa in acelasi timp cu explozia stimulentelor la scara larga. La noi the summer of love a venit mai tarziu iar soundtrack-ul i-a fost minimalist. In general eviti sa vorbesti despre asta dar daca o faci risti sa nu mai intelegi nimic pentru ca argumentul e esential. Sa fim seriosi niciodata muzica asta nu a fost cu adevarat iubita. De la primele petreceri deja majoritatea prietenilor va ziceau "iar minimal?". Toata lumea parea a fi anti desi nu era clar cine e pro. Nu cred sa fi existat alt stil care sa creeze antipatii asa rapide si durabile. Pentru ca e o muzica "grea", oricat de blasfemie vi se pare asta. As fi preferat ca explozia consumului, crearea scenei si a lifestyle-ului sa vina mai devreme, sa avem pokemoni progresisti si curve bestializandu-se pe breakbeat. Sau trance, ce s-a intamplat cu trance-ul in Romania? Un danez imi spunea la Villalobos ca asta e public de Armin Van Buuren. Nu asta trebuia sa fie stilul popular care sa umple stadioane de cocalari extaziati? Timing, bad timing.
Minimalul este, si o sustin cu tarie, cea mai avansata muzica de dans. De dans zic. A ajuns circumstantial prea repede sus si acum se autodistruge. O sa aruncam exagerarile la cos odata cu muzica. Neavand o istorie a scenei in spate care sa treaca prin crizele normale la vremea lor am ratat o evolutie. E un fel de intoarcere in underground, poate benefica, dar ce drum ciudat.
O prietena a danezului, pe malul lacului, la after, mi-a zis ca Bucurestiul are relaxarea Barcelonei combinata cu atitudinea Berlinului. iu-huu, ce-am putea fi daca nu ne-am mai musca de cur unii pe altii".

2008, Helmet Room Recordings. Kim Hansen and Marie-Louise Munck are perhaps best known for their work in experimental rock outfit Amstrong, but the Danish duo has also been working together as Antenne since 2000, releasing a series of numerically-titled albums exploring the more experimental side of trip-hop. Their third full-length release continues that exploration, but is less noteworthy for its more avant-garde qualities than for its perfectly evoked moods of melancholy, sadness and sleepiness. While mellow analog bleating and quietly spaced-out synthesizers make room for that sense of abstraction, that is softly overpowered by Munck's smoky singing. Light Trip-hop, Chill Out

1997, Phase (nu merge dom'le sa postez finlandezismul ala de litera - zero taiat) (Mika Vainio, half of Pan Sonic) - Tulkinta, Sähkö label. Tulkinta (thanks tfe) compiled the early Sahko classic ep's Kvantti and Röntgen along with a handful of extra tracks for good measure. The resulting release was unbeleivably coherent for a compilation and has become one of the staples of the minimal techno scene with techno god Richie Hawtin and the dangerously in-vogue Sleeparchive referencing this work constantly. The album sounds as essential "as minimal techno can possibly get"; warm analogue recordings of drum machines and glacial synth blips, all rolled up into the musical implications of residual electronics - static, electronic noise, digital artifacts, and so on. All tracks written,produced and recorded by Mika Vainio in Turku in 1992. Minimal Techno, Microsound, IDM

Multi DJ, organizatori si cativa bloggeri (nu eu, ca nu am treaba cu muzica electronica) se intalnesc in Poiana lui Iocan sa vorbeasca despre breakbeat, drum'n'bass si bineinteles, ati ghicit, dubstep. Si nu orice zumzet breakdubassist, ci ala romanesc (lipseste TRG ;).
Sa-mi spuneti cum a fost, pentru ca eu astept o invitatie oficiala si cu siguranta ea nu va veni.

2008, Raster-Noton. After finishing the 'transall' cycle and introducing the series of 'xerrox', Carsten Nicolai makes a move back to his more rhythmic approach in 'unitxt'. It could be seen as a kind of continuation to the 'transspray ep' from 2004. Of all the rhythm-based music by Alva Noto, this latest batch probably marks the greatest levels of detail and elaboration.
The title unitxt could be read as:
- unit extended referring to a unit of a rhythmic grid
- or universal text referring to a universal language, e.g. mathematics: units, constants, measurements, prefix-, SI system of units and is represented in spoken word and by codes in sound itself.
- unit - the initial working title of the album - is the name of club unit in tokyo. the way of composing the tracks in the grid of 120 pbm and out of different rhythmic units or modules recombined, as well as to express the text component of the recordings that developed in collaboration with the french sound poet Anne-James Chaton, changed the original title to unitxt.
After the first ten tracks that can be regarded as the core recordings of unitxt, there are 15 more tracks generated from converting pure data of programs, jpgs or other digital files into sound material. These tracks could be considered as source code 'solos' to be played on top of the first ten tracks or to be regarded as sonified concept recordings.

TRG - Missed Calls EP

Vechiul nostru prieten TRG (singurul roman de la Sonar) scoate la Subway, 2008 (check out in commenturi) un dubstep de toata frumusetea. Dar de ce sa vorbesc eu cand Boomkat-ul are asa cuvinte de lauda:

"Our favourite Romanian breakstep producers TRG build on the pressure from their recent run of good form with an essential double pack for Subway recordings. 'Missed calls' rolls into sight with the ace title track, riding a shapely breakstep riddim cushioned by lush housing synths pads the bar is set high from the off. They follows this up with the cod ethno fumblings of 'Drum tribe' which would be an utterly sick cut if it weren't for the pan pipes. 'Ghetto romance' makes up for this faux pas with a killer steppers reduction with a crunching beat reminding us of that ace Omen 12" from a few years back, only updated with tweaked bass skills and a sweetened harp lick. Head onto the second disk and they've saved the ravers til the end, 'Resistance break' is a raging 'ardcore debted cut, charging up wild breakbeats with dance driving riffage before cracking out some future 2-step styles on 'feel for you' and rolling out proper for the final darkside warehouse wobbler 'hoods up'. Sick".
